I am a Video Producer, so all things video.

I started as a temp in December 2018, and was hired officially in March of 2019.
‍

My favorite part about my job is that I’m always working on something different and using creativity to solve problems. No two days are the same and that keeps me on my toes!
‍

Like everyone else, AI has been something I’ve been keeping a close eye on. The video, audio, and image software is getting better at break neck speed, so I’m always trying to find a way to stay ahead of the curve and use whatever new technology can help us take our video to the next level.

I moved to Chicago with no job in 2018 - a year after graduating with a Media Production degree. At first I worked a number of random temp jobs and as a bouncer at a pizzeria. One day I got an interview for a temp-to-hire role at a media company (one of the words that’s in my degree!) and had great interviews with Jenn and Kelly (Our Senior Director, Digital Media & our Senior Systems and Product Analyst). It seemed like a great fit, and it’s become an even better fit since!

Package This has been the most significant project since joining the team. My first few roles with the company weren’t video focused, but I helped with editing for some shows and kept reminding everyone that I had a background in video. As we shifted more into digital media, I got the opportunity to make a pilot of a video series we were planning to outsource (which is now PackageThis), and that led to the creation of my current role as a full time Video Producer. I’m very fortunate that our company is willing to invest in our strengths.

I think our team culture is great. Working remotely makes it harder to see each other as often, but between our Culture Club events, townhalls, and trade shows, I always feel connected to the team.
