Kelly Greeby
Senior Manager, Process Innovation & Special Projects
What do you do at PMMI Media Group?
My current title is Sr. Manager of Process Innovation & Special Projects. My role is a little hard to define neatly, which is what I like most about it. I work across teams helping move projects forward —sometimes that's a smaller, targeted effort and sometimes it's a large-scale company-wide initiatives.
How long have you worked for PMMI Media Group?
18 years! I started part-time in production and have worked my way through a lot of different roles—Digital Project Manager, Director of Client Success, Sr. Director of Media Operations, and now Process Innovation. It’s been quite a ride.
What is your favorite part about what you do?
Honestly, the problem-solving — especially when it's a team effort. Some of the best outcomes I've been part of started with just getting the right people in a room, figuring out what's actually broken, and working through it together. I love that process of peeling back the layers to find the real issue, not just the thing everyone's complaining about, and then sorting it out with the people who know it best.
What is a trending topic that you're keeping a close eye on in packaging and processing/marketing/technology?
Most of my work is internal, so I’m not closely tracking industry trends the way some other folks on our team are. That said, every time I walk the floor at PACK EXPO I’m genuinely amazed by how far automation and technology have come. It’s one of those things where you don’t realize how fast things are moving until you see it all in one place.
How did you discover/end up in the packaging/processing industry?
Totally by accident. I had two kids under 4 and answered a Craigslist ad for a part-time production job 18 years ago. I wasn’t thinking about an industry or a career path—I just needed something to do so I wouldn’t lose my mind. Turns out it was a pretty good Craigslist find!
What has been your proudest moment ormost significant project since joining the team?
It's hard to pick one thing after 18 years. Having worn so many hats here, I understand how a lot of the company runs — the history, the processes, the people — and that's what makes my current role such a good fit for me.
What stands out as something I’m proud of after all this time are the relationships I've built. When you've worked alongside people for years, a lot of the ego falls away. We know each other well enough to recognize what everyone brings to the table, and nobody feels threatened by someone else's strengths — we just lean into them. There's no posturing around who's good at what, we already know, and that makes us a lot more effective together. I'm proud of that — it's not something every team gets to have.
How would you describe the PMMI Media Group team culture?
After 18 years I've seen a lot of teams, and what's kind of rare here is that people actually like each other. I think it starts with hiring — we bring in good people who are genuinely nice to work with, and that sets the tone for everything else. Even though a lot of us work remotely, it never feels like we don't know each other. There's a culture committee that puts together things for us to do together as a team, but honestly the connection feels natural even beyond that. You can feel it in how people collaborate and show up for each other — it's not manufactured, it's just kind of who we are.
Fun fact about yourself?
I’ve gone deep down the rabbit hole of soil science and permaculture practices. I find the soil food web genuinely fascinating—the complexity of what’s happening just under our feet is kind of mind-blowing once you start learning about it.
